Description
Fused quartz tubing is manufactured from high-purity silicon dioxide that is melted and fused into a clear, non-crystalline glass with extremely low thermal expansion and excellent chemical resistance. This tubing has a 6mm inner diameter and a 12mm outer diameter, giving it a 3mm wall thickness, and it is supplied in a standard 4-foot length. In lampworking and scientific glassblowing, fused quartz is chosen when a piece must tolerate rapid temperature changes, high radiant heat, or aggressive chemical environments that would stress or contaminate other glass types.
