Description:
This is a sintered diamond core drill designed for drilling glass. The sintered straight core drills, unlike brazed or plated drills, have diamond content throughout the tip of the drill. This construction improves the lifespan of the drill and increases the speed and efficiency of drilling because fresh diamond abrasive is continually exposed as the tool wears. Because it is a hollow core drill, it is designed to run with water moving through the center to keep both the drill and the glass cool and to flush grinding debris.
How it is used:
This bit is used in coldworking and fabrication when you need to drill a clean, controlled hole through glass. It is run with a continuous water feed through the center of the drill to prevent overheating, reduce chipping, and avoid damaging both the drill and the work. In practice, you use light, steady pressure and let the diamonds do the cutting, keeping the drilling zone flooded and the core clear so the bit stays efficient and tracks true.
