Description:
This is a uniform composite backing plate designed to run true and keep your abrasive or polishing media properly supported. The plate is made to align within TIR .001, helping reduce wobble so thin discs track evenly and wear more consistently. It has a 1/2" arbor hole for mounting to compatible equipment and arbors, and it is intended as a stable, flat foundation for thin polish discs, Diamond Toppers, and Silicon Carbide discs.
How it is used:
In coldworking and lapidary-style finishing for glass, you mount the backing plate onto a machine or arbor using the 1/2" hole, then attach your thin polishing or sanding disc to the face of the plate.
