This 8 inch 1200 grit diamond sanding disc is a fine-abrasive coldworking disc designed to be used on a compatible 8 inch lap or disc machine with a matching backing plate. In glasswork, a 1200 grit diamond disc is used later in the grinding sequence after shaping and truing are complete, when you want to refine the surface, reduce visible scratch pattern, and prep edges or faces for pre-polish and final polish steps. It is especially useful for cleaning up ground edges on flat work, smoothing punty marks after initial removal, and refining contact surfaces before moving to higher grit or polishing compounds.
How it is used:
