Description:
The 8" Diamond Topper (600) is a diamond abrasive “topper” designed to be applied to a master backing plate to refresh and replace tired or worn diamond discs. It is prepared to the same high quality standard as the Diamond Discs and is supplied with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing so it can be bonded cleanly and securely to the backing plate. In a coldworking shop, this style of topper is a practical way to keep a flat grinding surface in service without replacing the entire plate assembly, making it a competent, all-around replacement surface when your existing disc has lost its cut.
How it is used:
Apply the topper to a master backing plate to create a renewed grinding surface for glass coldworking. The 600 grit is typically chosen when you want controlled material removal while refining the surface toward a smoother finish, such as after coarser grinding steps and before moving on to finer pre-polish and polish.
