Description:
This is clear borosilicate glass rod stock intended for lampworking and scientific glass fabrication. Clear rod is used when you need clean, colorless glass for seals, structural members, handles, bridges, and solid build-ups where you want maximum visibility of the work and a neutral base that pairs with any color tubing or rod.
How it is used:
Use clear rod as a primary building material for solid work and for adding strength to hollow assemblies. In lampworking, you typically preheat the rod in the outer flame, then bring it to a full working heat to gather and apply glass for welds, blowouts, foot rings, maria attachments, punty-style handles, or reinforcement around joints and transitions. Clear rod is also commonly pulled down into stringer for fine detail work and for controlled heat input when sealing small areas.
