This is Chinese-made opaque jade green borosilicate color tubing supplied in 4 foot lengths. The color is a dense, even jade green that reads solid in the wall and holds its opacity well when worked with steady heat, making it a strong choice when you want a clean, uniform green without relying on backing layers or heavy encasement.
Use this tubing when you want to build larger hollow work directly from colored stock, such as blown sections, wide-diameter components, or assemblies where you want the color to be integral to the wall. In lampworking, you typically preheat the tube evenly to prevent chill marks, establish a straight heat band, and rotate consistently to keep the wall uniform while you expand with controlled air pressure. Opaque jade greens like this are especially useful for bold graphic forms, clean color blocking, and high-contrast surface decoration, since stringer work, overlays, and sculptural attachments read clearly against the solid green base.
