Asian-made borosilicate color tubing in a light jade green formulation, produced as a consistent, machine-drawn tube for flameworking when you want a ready-made hollow starting point with an even wall and dependable color coverage. Starting from color tubing is a practical way to build larger hollow forms efficiently, since you are shaping and inflating an established tube rather than constructing a hollow from solid. Light jade green is typically chosen for work where you want a softer, brighter green presence that still reads as an opaque or dense color field, making it useful for clean color blocking and for pairing with both transparent accents and high-contrast opaques.
This tubing is used as a hollow blank for lampworking. Most artists cut a section, fire-polish the ends, and then either seal one end to form a bubble or attach a handle or blow tube so the tube can be evenly heated and inflated. The 32mm size is commonly used for larger bodies such as vessels, jars, and sculptural components where you want substantial volume and a strong, continuous color surface. Light jade green tubing also works well for overlays and sleeving applications where you want a consistent green layer, and it can be stretched and necked down to create transitions, collars, and color bands while keeping the color distribution even through the forming process.
