Asian 38mm Jade Blue Tubing is transparent blue borosilicate color tubing made in China. It is produced as straight, consistent tubing for flameworking and lampworking work where you want smooth, even color coverage across a larger surface than rod can provide. This tubing comes in 4 ft lengths and is sold by the piece, making it a solid choice for larger hollow builds, color sleeving over clear, and for pulling down into smaller diameter color tubing when you want the same hue in a more delicate size.
How it is used:
Jade blue tubing is commonly used in borosilicate hollow work when you want a clean transparent blue that reads strong without turning muddy.
- Sleeve it over clear tubing to build a colored outer layer, then shape it into cups, bubblers, vessels, and other hollow forms while keeping the color uniform.
- Start a hollow piece directly in color by using a section as your initial tube, then add clear or additional color as the build progresses.
- Heat and pull it down to smaller diameter tubing for tighter assemblies, smaller components, and matching accents.
- Cut short sections for decorative banding, collars, and maria work where a transparent blue edge line stays crisp under clear encasement.
