Asian 44mm Jade White Tubing is a colored borosilicate glass tube made for lampworkers who want an even, consistent white in larger hollow work. This tubing is manufactured as a single, uniform color tube so you can build big forms without the time and heat-work of sleeving clear and adding color by hand. Jade White is used when you want a clean, bright white that reads solid and graphic, especially as a base layer under other colors, as a high-contrast backing for linework, or as a stand-alone body color on larger pieces.
Because it is tubing, it is chosen specifically for hollow construction where you need a ready-made internal airspace. In production work, it helps keep wall thickness more consistent from piece to piece, and it reduces the number of seals compared to building a blank from rod. In scientific and functional-style fabrication, large diameter color tubing is also useful for making straight sections, collars, and transitions where you want color to remain uniform through the build and through any later re-heats.
How it is used:
Jade White tubing is typically worked on a bench torch with a neutral to slightly oxidizing flame to keep the surface clean while you establish your first seals. Most lampworkers start by cutting a working length, fire-polishing the ends, and then using standard hollow techniques such as closing an end, adding a handle or blowhose, and inflating or shaping the tube into the desired form. It can be stretched down to smaller diameters for custom transitions, used as a sleeve over compatible clear borosilicate, or incorporated as sections in multi-part assemblies where you want strong white bands, collars, or full-body color.
