Asian-made borosilicate color tubing in a cream formulation, produced as a consistent, machine-drawn tube that provides a uniform hollow starting point for flameworking. Color tubing is used when you want continuous color coverage and a predictable wall without having to build a hollow form from solid rod, which saves time and helps keep wall thickness even as you inflate and shape. Cream is typically chosen when you want a softer, warm neutral that reads smooth and refined, working well as a base color for clean design, as a contrast layer against darker colors, or as a background for surface decoration where you want the details to stand out.
This tubing is used as a hollow blank for lampworking. A typical workflow is to cut a section, fire-polish the ends, and then attach a handle or blow tube for controlled heating and inflation, or seal one end to start a bubble for shaping. The 51mm diameter is well-suited for very large hollow bodies where you want maximum starting volume and an uninterrupted color surface, such as oversized vessels and large sculptural components. Cream tubing is also useful for collars, transitions, and accent sections in assembled work, and it can be stretched and necked down while maintaining even color distribution through the forming process.
