Asian Color Rod - Opaque Pink - 7mm - 8mm

Item Name:

Asian 7-8mm Opaque Pink Rod

SKU:

AR-OPAQUEPINK

Description:

Asian-made borosilicate color rod in an opaque pink formulation, supplied in a 7–8mm diameter range. Color rod is used in lampworking as primary stock for building solid forms, adding color overlays, and creating decorative elements, and it can be worked directly or pulled down into smaller rod and stringer for detail work. Opaque pink is typically chosen when you want a solid, fully saturated pink that reads clean and bright without light transmission, making it ideal for bold, graphic work where you want pure color and strong visual separation from surrounding elements.

How it is used:

This rod is used directly in the flame for lampworking. It can be melted down to build solid components, used for gathers and overlays, or pulled into smaller rod and stringer for fine line work and detailed accents. The 7–8mm diameter range is especially useful when you want a moderate amount of glass for overlays, decorative elements, and components that need to hold heat during shaping and assembly. Opaque pink rod is well-suited for strong color bands, sculptural details, and surface decoration, and it can be paired with clear for crisp encasement edges or combined with darker colors for high-contrast designs that stay bold after annealing.
