Batgirl Striped Tubing is a color striped glass tubing designed for flameworking and other glassworking processes where consistent, repeatable color patterning is desired. The tubing is manufactured as a hollow form with alternating color stripes running lengthwise, giving you a built-in visual rhythm that stays readable after stretching, pulling down, or shaping. This style of tubing is commonly chosen when you want clean, graphic line work without having to hand-apply multiple stringers or do complex encasement pattern builds.
How it is used:
In lampworking, striped tubing is typically used as a starting stock for pulling striped cane, making blown components, or creating sections that will be cut and used as sleeves, collars, or decorative blowouts. You can heat and gently stretch it to tighten the stripe spacing, pull it down into smaller tubing or solid cane, or blow small forms from short sections depending on your torch setup and the wall thickness. It is especially useful for beads, small vessels, pendants, and any work where you want the stripes to remain crisp and evenly distributed around the circumference as the glass moves.
