Boro Batch Green Pearl Frit Small is a borosilicate glass color supplied as small frit. It is made by melting borosilicate color glass, then crushing and screening it into a smaller particle size that gives you more even coverage and finer patterning than large frit, while still keeping a lightly broken-up, organic look compared to powder. Green Pearl is described as a dark green like the leaves of the largest, most well fed tree in the midst of summer. Green Pearl was made to be used on the outside of your work to provide a great balance to any brighter encased colors. Green Pearl is a great choice if you are trying to do wrap and rakes. Green Pearl is wonderfully workable but does not like to be encased, so it is best used as an exterior color application rather than buried under clear.
How it is used:
Put a small amount of frit into a frit tray. Heat your base glass until the surface is tacky, then roll the hot glass through the frit to pick up an even layer. Melt the frit in smoothly, then use a pick, rake, or tungsten tool to pull and comb the softened color into lines and movement for wrap and rake effects. Keep the application on the surface and avoid encasing to maintain the best working behavior and appearance.
