How it is used:
Use this rod in a borosilicate lampworking setup for blown components, sculptural work, and layered color applications where you want a red that will develop character as you work it. Heat the rod evenly, apply it as wraps or overlays on a stable base, and allow the color to develop by working in a neutral to slightly reducing flame when appropriate for your setup. It is especially useful for accent bands, line work pulled into stringer, and for building small gathers that will be shaped into decorative elements.
