Description:
Light Blue Honey is a transparent borosilicate color rod with a blue tint that is formulated to strike to its developed color either in the torch flame or during kiln cycles. It is made as solid rod stock for borosilicate lampworking, allowing you to heat, gather, and apply the color in a controlled way for clean transparent coverage. This type of striking transparent is used when you want a clear, luminous body color that can deepen with heatwork, giving finished pieces more visual richness than a standard non striking transparent.
How it is used:
Use this rod in a borosilicate lampworking setup for transparent overlays, blown sections, and surface color where you want the blue tone to develop through striking. Apply it as a wrap or casing layer over a stable base, or use it as the main body color for small blown forms and components. After shaping, bring the piece through an even reheat to encourage consistent striking, and allow your normal kiln cycle to finish developing the color if you prefer kiln striking. It can also be pulled into stringer for fine transparent line work and detail that will strike as the piece is worked and annealed.
