Item Name:

Boro Batch - Small Batch - Lime Acid - Bottom Shelf

SKU:

BB-SB-324-OPTION324

Description:

Lime Acid is a borosilicate color batch formulated to produce a transparent, light green when worked in the flame. This is a “small batch” style color, intended for artists and scientific glassworkers who want a distinct, clean green that stays readable and bright in finished work rather than going muddy or overly dark.

Color batch is used as your starting material for making your own colored borosilicate rod, tubing, or blowouts. In practice, you’ll typically melt and gather the batch into clear boro, then pull down into rod or tubing, or use it to create colored sections and overlays. Transparent greens like this are especially useful when you want light transmission and depth, such as encasements, windows, and layered color builds where you still want to see form and internal detail.

How it is used:

In lampworking, this batch is used by introducing small amounts into a hot gather of clear borosilicate and mixing thoroughly to distribute the color evenly. Once the color is consistent, you can pull it into rod for sculptural work, pull it into stringer for linework and detail, or build it into tubing for sleeving, blowouts, and section work. Because it is transparent, it is also well-suited to layering techniques where you want a luminous green that plays well with thickness changes and backlighting.
