Description:
Red Test #18 is a striking transparent red borosilicate color from the Boro Batch Small Batch line. It is supplied as colored borosilicate glass intended for lampworking and scientific-style fabrication where clean color, clarity, and controlled striking behavior are important.
How it is used:
Use this color the same way you would use any borosilicate color rod for flameworking. Work it in a neutral to slightly oxidizing flame to keep the color clean, then use heat cycling to bring up the strike and develop the red tone. It is well suited for transparent overlays, encasement work, blown sections, and detail work where you want a rich transparent red that develops with proper heatwork.
