Description:
Boro Batch Tangerine Dream Frit is borosilicate color glass that has been melted, crushed, and screened into a fine frit for smooth, even application and fast melt-in. Tangerine Dream is an orange that is heavier on yellow than red, and it is described as a cadmium based orange. This color is best chosen when you want bright, warm orange coverage and controlled placement on beads, pendants, small sculpture, and blown components where you want minimal grain texture from the frit size. Because it is cadmium based, it prefers cooler working conditions to help prevent boiling and surface scumming.
How it is used:
Warm your base borosilicate piece until the surface is tacky, then roll or lightly press it into the fine frit. Bring the piece back to the flame and melt the frit in gently using a cooler flame and steady heat to avoid boiling the color. Keep the work out of a heavy reducing flame to maintain clean, bright orange results, and build color depth with multiple light applications rather than one heavy coat.
