Boro Batch Tangerine Dream Frit is borosilicate color glass that has been melted, crushed, and milled into a powder for the fastest, smoothest coverage with virtually no grain texture. Tangerine Dream is an orange that is heavier on yellow than red, and it is described as a cadmium based orange. Powder is chosen when you want very even, controlled color placement for fades, soft blends, and clean surface coverage on beads, pendants, small sculpture, and blown components. Because it is cadmium based, it needs a cooler flame to help prevent boiling, and it should be kept out of a heavy handed reducing flame to maintain a clean, bright orange.

How it is used:

Warm your base borosilicate piece until the surface is tacky, then lightly roll or dab the hot glass into the powder. Melt the powder in gently using a cooler flame and steady heat so the color does not boil. Avoid heavy reduction, and build saturation with multiple light applications, letting the color set between passes for the cleanest, brightest results.
