Item Name:
Black Silicon Carbide (120)
SKU:
AB5033.120
Description:
Black silicon carbide is an aggressive, hard abrasive blasting media graded to 120 grit. It is supplied as loose black grit intended for use in sandblasting equipment, and it can be reused multiple times similar to sand or aluminum oxide. This grit size is commonly chosen when you want a cleaner, more polished etched surface while keeping blast times shorter than you would with finer grits. When ordered as a quantity of one, it is shipped as a forty-five pound large flat rate box containing black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box and shipping cost will be adjusted manually after purchase.
How it is used:
Load the media into your sandblasting cabinet or pressure pot according to your equipment requirements. Use it to etch, frost, and texture glass surfaces, or to prep glass and metal components where a consistent, controlled abrasive cut is needed. A 120 grit is a solid “middle” choice for many glass studios because it can produce a refined matte finish without the extended blasting time typically required by very fine media.
Special Note:
When you order a quantity of one you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box of nothing but black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box so your shipping cost will be adjusted manually when this item is purchased.
