Black Silicon Carbide 1200

Description:
Black silicon carbide 1200 is an ultra-fine abrasive media used for very smooth finishing and polishing-prep work in glass shops. It is made from hard, sharp, angular silicon carbide particles graded to a 1200 grit size, giving it fast cutting action while leaving a finer surface than coarser blasting or grinding media. This is commonly chosen when you want a clean, even finish with shorter blast times, especially when you are stepping up from rougher grits and want a more refined surface before moving to final finishing.
How it is used:
This abrasive is commonly used as blasting media in a sandblasting cabinet or pressure pot system to etch and frost glass surfaces with tighter, finer texture than lower grit media. It can be re-used multiple times when properly collected and kept clean and dry. This product ships only in a large flat rate box, and shipping cost will be adjusted manually when purchased.
Special Note:
When you order a quantity of one you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box of nothing but black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box so your shipping cost will be adjusted manually when this item is purchased.
