Item Name:

Black Silicon Carbide 20

SKU:

AB5029

Description:

Black silicon carbide 20 is a very coarse, aggressive blasting media used when you need fast cutting action and heavy surface removal. It is made from extremely hard, sharp, angular silicon carbide particles graded to a 20 grit size. In lampworking and general glass shop use, this is chosen for rough etching, rapid surface texturing, and stripping work where finer media would be too slow. Black silicon carbide can be re-used many times over, similar to other common blasting abrasives.

How it is used:

Load this media into a compatible sandblasting cabinet or pressure blasting system and use it to cut and texture glass quickly. Because this is a coarse grit, it is best suited for bold, matte finishes and deeper bite rather than fine detail. When you order a quantity of one, you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box of black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box, so shipping cost will be adjusted manually when this item is purchased.

Special Note:

When you order a quantity of one you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box of nothing but black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box so your shipping cost will be adjusted manually when this item is purchased.
