Item Name:
Black Silicon Carbide (220)
SKU:
AB5033.220
Description:
Black silicon carbide is the hardest blasting media available on this listing, supplied as loose abrasive grit graded to 220 grit. It is intended for use in sandblasting equipment and can be reused many times over, similar to sand or aluminum oxide. This finer grit is chosen when you want a smoother, more polished etched finish and cleaner detail while still keeping blast times shorter than many ultra-fine media. When you order a quantity of one you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box containing black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box and shipping cost will be adjusted manually when this item is purchased.
How it is used:
Load the media into a sandblasting cabinet or pressure pot and use it to frost and texture glass surfaces, especially when you want a refined matte finish for decorative etching, stencil work, or surface prep before painting, enameling, or additional coldworking. A 220 grit is a strong choice for studios that want a smoother look than 120 or 180 while maintaining good control over the cut.
Special Note:
When you order a quantity of one you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box of nothing but black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box so your shipping cost will be adjusted manually when this item is purchased.
