Description:
Black silicon carbide 320 is a medium-fine blasting abrasive used for controlled etching and surface finishing on glass. It is made from very hard, sharp, angular silicon carbide particles graded to a 320 grit size. In lampworking and general glass shop use, this grit is a solid choice when you want a smoother, more even etched surface than coarse media can provide, while still cutting efficiently. It is also useful when you are refining a finish after rougher blasting steps and want a cleaner look before moving to finer grits.
How it is used:
Load this media into a compatible sandblasting cabinet or pressure blasting system and use it to etch, frost, and texture glass surfaces with a tighter finish than lower grit abrasives. Black silicon carbide can be re-used many times over when it is kept clean and dry. When you order a quantity of one, you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box of black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box, so shipping cost will be adjusted manually when this item is purchased.
