Black silicon carbide is an extremely hard abrasive blasting media graded to 60 grit. It is used when you want fast, consistent cutting action with a cleaner finish in less time than softer medias. This media can be re-used many times, similar to sand or aluminum oxide, making it a solid choice for shops doing repeat blasting work. When you order a quantity of one, you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box containing black silicon carbide and packaging. This item ships only in a large flat rate box, so shipping costs will be adjusted manually when purchased.

How it is used:

Load the 60 grit black silicon carbide into your sandblasting cabinet or pressure blaster and use it to etch, frost, and texture glass surfaces. In lampworking and scientific glass work, it is commonly used for surface prep and finishing tasks such as removing glare, creating matte backgrounds for design contrast, and producing an even satin texture on tubing, components, or finished pieces.
