Description:
Boogie Down 3 Enamel Decals are kiln-fired decal transfers made for decorating compatible glass surfaces with a crisp, repeatable graphic. These decals are constructed as a thin enamel image carried on a release backing so the design can be positioned accurately before firing. They are used when you want consistent, clean decoration on finished work without hand painting, and they are especially useful for production runs, matching sets, and adding fine detail that is difficult to achieve with stringer or enamel brushwork alone. In lampworking and fusing, enamel decals are typically applied to finished or near-finished pieces and then fired to bond the enamel permanently to the glass surface.
How it is used:
Clean the glass surface thoroughly so there are no oils or dust. Soak the decal per the manufacturer’s method until the image releases from the backing. Slide the decal into position on the glass and smooth out water and air bubbles so the design lays flat. Allow the piece to dry completely. Fire in a kiln using a decal-compatible firing schedule appropriate for the glass COE and the decal type so the enamel bonds to the surface.
