Description:

Boro Batch Blue Honey Frit is a borosilicate color frit made by crushing compatible colored boro glass into small granules for easy application in flameworking. Blue Honey is a rich, deep blue in the jar. When worked in the flame and struck, it stays translucent while developing waves of purple and shifting toward a greenish blue tone. It is a very workable striking color, but it should be kept out of heavy reduction to maintain its best clarity and color response.

How it is used:

Warm your base borosilicate piece in a neutral flame, then roll or dab the hot glass into a small pile of frit, or use a frit spoon or tray to apply it precisely. Melt the frit in smoothly, keeping the flame chemistry neutral to slightly oxidizing. To bring out the full Blue Honey effect, cycle the heat by warming and cooling the glass to strike the color, then gently reheat to even out the surface without washing out the developing purples and blue-green tones.
