Description:
Boro Batch Dark Muddy Waters Frit Large is a borosilicate glass color supplied as large-size frit. It is made by melting borosilicate color glass, then crushing and screening it into a coarse grain so you can add bold, broken-up color and organic texture without committing to full rod work. This color is described as heavily saturated Dark Muddy Waters, with a look like a small amount of water poured into a glass of dirt, and the brown is transparent. Large frit is chosen when you want pronounced speckling, heavier surface movement, and more visible individual grains for effects on beads, pendants, small sculpture, and blown components.
How it is used:
Pour a small amount of frit into a frit tray or dish. Bring your base glass to a tacky heat, then roll or press the hot surface into the frit to pick up the grains. Reheat gently and melt the frit in until it is seated, then add more frit in layers if you want heavier coverage. Large frit can be left slightly proud for texture or fully melted smooth before encasing, depending on the finish you want.
