Description:

Boro Batch Mead Frit in a fine particle size is a borosilicate color glass frit made by melting color glass, then crushing and screening it into small, consistent grains. In the flame it is known for developing beautiful blues and purples, with a rich red honey tone that can be brought out by striking the color. Fine frit is chosen when you want smoother coverage, softer transitions, and more control than coarse frit, especially on smaller work where large grains can look heavy or lumpy.

How it is used:

Warm your piece evenly, then roll or lightly press the hot glass into a small bed of fine frit. Reheat gently to tack the grains down, then melt the frit in smoothly until it is fully seated. Build color by repeating light applications rather than burying the surface in one heavy coat. To develop the full Mead palette, work it through controlled heat cycles and strike it in a neutral-to-slightly-reducing flame until the blues, purples, and honey-red tones come up.
