Boro Batch Mead Frit in powder form is borosilicate color glass that has been melted, crushed, and milled down to a very fine powder for fast, even coverage. In the flame it can develop beautiful blues and purples, and it can bring up a rich red honey tone when you strike it correctly. Powder is the choice when you want the smoothest possible application with minimal grain texture, making it ideal for clean fades, soft blends, and controlled color placement on beads, pendants, and small sculptural work.

How it is used:

Preheat the piece so the surface is evenly warm, then lightly roll or dab the hot glass into a small amount of powder. Use a gentle flame to set the powder without blowing it off, then melt it in until the surface is smooth. Build saturation with multiple light passes instead of one heavy application. To bring out the full Mead color range, work the glass through controlled heating and cooling cycles and strike in a neutral-to-slightly-reducing flame until the blues, purples, and honey-red tones develop.
