Description:

Boro Batch Mead Frit is a borosilicate color frit made by crushing and grading compatible color glass into a consistent small particle size. Mead is a reactive, strike-capable color that can develop beautiful blues and purples, with a rich red honey tone that comes forward when the color is struck correctly. The smaller grain size is ideal when you want smoother coverage, tighter patterning, and more controlled color placement without the bold texture that larger frit can leave behind.

How it is used:

Use this frit for surface color, shading, and heat-driven effects in borosilicate lampworking. Roll a hot gather or warmed section of your work in a frit tray, then melt the grains in until smooth. Because the particles are smaller, it is well suited for even wraps, soft fades, and detailed surface patterning before you strike the color with controlled heat cycles. You can leave it as a surface application for maximum movement, or encase after the color has developed to lock in the struck blues, purples, and honey-red notes.
