Description:
Boro Batch Sour Puss Frit Fine is a borosilicate color glass frit made from a super opaque cadmium based yellow. It is produced by crushing and sizing colored borosilicate into a fine frit grade so it can be applied in thin, even layers for strong color coverage.
This color was released in tandem with Lemon Party and is designed to be worked into regular production when you want a bold, high-visibility yellow that stands out in linework, surface decoration, and layered color builds. Because it is a fine frit, it is especially useful when you want controlled application and smoother melt-in with less texture than coarser frit sizes.
How it is used:
Fine frit is typically used as a surface-applied colorant in lampworking.
A common approach is to:
- Warm the base glass and roll or dab it into the frit to pick up an even coating
- Gently preheat the coated area to secure the frit and reduce popping
- Melt the frit in smoothly, then either leave it as a surface color or encase it in clear for depth and protection
- Use it in small amounts for reactive or accent applications, or build heavier coverage for solid opaque sections
Sour Puss is a good choice when you want an opaque yellow presence that reads clearly even in small details and can be incorporated into a standard rotation for consistent results.
