Item Name:
Brown Aluminum Oxide (320)
SKU:
AB5026
Description:
Brown aluminum oxide is a synthetic abrasive blast media made from fused aluminum oxide and graded to a fine 320 grit. It is harder than most dry abrasive blast media, enabling it to cut even the hardest metals, and it can be re-used many times. In lampworking and other glasswork, a fine 320 grit abrasive is used when you want controlled, even frosting and surface refinement rather than heavy cutting. It is typically chosen for final finishing passes, for smoothing the surface after coarser blasting steps, and for producing a uniform matte diffusion on decorative work where consistency matters.
How it is used:
This media is used in a sandblasting cabinet or a pressure pot blaster. Load the media into the blaster, then adjust air pressure and nozzle distance to suit the thickness and delicacy of the glass. Keep the nozzle moving in smooth, overlapping passes to avoid striping and to prevent over-blasting one area. Reclaim and sift the media as needed to remove glass dust so the cutting action and finish remain consistent from use to use.
Dimensions:
When you order a quantity of one you will receive one forty-five pound large flat rate box.
