This is a separate replacement firebrick top designed for a Caldera kiln, built with an integrated 2 inch by 2 inch high-temperature viewing window. It is used when you want to add or replace a windowed lid on a Caldera you already own, so you can visually check heatwork and the condition of your work without opening the kiln. This is especially useful for lampworking and bead annealing workflows where you want to confirm that pieces are safely garaged and glowing evenly while keeping the kiln temperature stable.
How it is used:
Remove the existing top from your Caldera kiln and set this firebrick top in place.
