Description:

The Carlisle CC++ torch is a bench-mounted lampworking torch built with two inlet hose connections and a Ball and Post base style for stable mounting and secure positioning at the bench. This configuration includes a number 5 premix Centerfire torch tip paired with an Optimizer option. The Optimizer system is designed to premix compressed air with the fuel gas, and it uses air valves to allow precise control of flame temperature. The Optimizer option can be switched off, allowing the torch to be used without that added air premix feature.

In lampworking, a torch like the Carlisle CC++ is chosen when you need a dependable bench torch with controlled, adjustable heat for shaping borosilicate or soft glass. The Centerfire tip is used for focused heating, detailed work, and controlled seals, while the Optimizer option is useful when you want additional control over flame characteristics and temperature for specific working styles, sensitive color work, or heat management during assembly. The Ball and Post base style is commonly used to keep the torch steady and aligned, which supports consistent hand positioning and repeatable flame placement during production work.

How it is used:

Mount the torch securely using the Ball and Post base style so it is stable and properly aligned at your bench. Connect the two inlet hose connections to your fuel gas supply and your oxygen supply using appropriate regulators and flashback protection. If you are using the Optimizer feature, connect compressed air as required and use the air valves to fine-tune the flame temperature and working character. Light the torch following standard torch lighting procedures and adjust the fuel and oxygen to achieve the flame you need for your glass type and task. Switch the Optimizer option off when you want to run the torch without the compressed-air premix feature.
