Description:
The Covington Arbor Shaft is a stainless steel arbor shaft designed to serve as the main rotating shaft on lapidary and grinding and polishing equipment. It provides a straight, rigid mounting surface for wheels, spacers, and other arbor-mounted accessories so they can run true while you grind, sand, or polish. Stainless steel construction is chosen when you want improved corrosion resistance in wet grinding environments where water is used for cooling and dust control. This is a heavy component intended for stable, low-vibration rotation when properly supported by bearings and correctly aligned.
How it is used:
This shaft is installed through the machine’s bearing assemblies and then used as the mounting point for grinding wheels, sanding belts and drums, polishing wheels, and spacing hardware. After the shaft is secured and aligned, accessories are tightened in place so they track concentrically during operation.
