Description:
This is a medium-grain frit made from transparent dark amethyst Effetre glass in 104 COE. Frit is crushed glass that is sized into consistent particles so you can add controlled color and surface patterning without having to pull stringer or apply large chunks of rod. This color is commonly used when you want a rich purple that stays transparent, making it especially useful for layered effects where you want depth rather than an opaque surface. It is typically applied to a warm bead or small gather, then melted in and can be left as surface texture or fully smoothed and encased for clean, crisp designs.
How it is used:
- Warm the bead or gather until the surface is tacky, then roll or lightly press into a frit tray to pick up an even coat.
- Melt the frit in slowly to reduce trapping air and to keep the color placement where you want it.
- Use a light application for speckling and shading, or a heavier application for bolder color coverage.
