Description:
Devardi Stringer - Dark Marine Green is a hand-pulled opaque soft glass stringer intended for 104 COE lampworking. It is constructed as thin strands of colored glass pulled down to a small diameter so it heats quickly and delivers controlled application. Stringers are used when you need fine detail work that would be difficult to achieve with full-size rod, such as clean pinstripes, scrollwork, dots, and tight wraps. This dark marine green is a strong, opaque color that is useful for bold linework, high-contrast detailing, and graphic surface decoration on beads and small sculptural components.
How it is used:
Pre-warm the stringer gradually in the far outer flame to reduce thermal shock, then move into a neutral flame to bring the tip to a small molten gather. Apply the molten glass to your base piece by trailing a line, placing dots, or wrapping thin bands. Reheat the decoration just enough to fully fuse it into the surface, then continue shaping and anneal as you would for any 104 COE soft glass work.
