Description:
Devardi Frit - Opaque Ivory is an opaque ivory colored frit made from 104 COE soft glass that has been crushed and screened into small, usable grains. Frit is used in lampworking when you want fast, even color application without pulling stringer or encasing rod. Opaque ivory is commonly chosen for warm, bone-like base tones, for muting brighter colors, and for building layered surfaces where you want the frit to stay solid rather than go transparent in the flame.
How it is used:
Warm the end of a clear or colored gather in the flame until it is slightly tacky, then roll or press the hot glass into the frit to pick up an even coating. Return the piece to the flame and melt the frit in slowly to avoid trapping air, then continue shaping or add additional layers as needed. For heavier coverage, apply in multiple light passes and melt each layer in before adding more.
