Description:
Devardi Frit - Opaque Salmon is an opaque salmon colored frit made from 104 COE soft glass that has been crushed and screened into small working grains. Frit is used in lampworking when you want to add color quickly and evenly without pulling stringer or switching to full size rod. Opaque salmon is a strong choice for warm pink and peach palettes, for soft skin-tone bases in sculptural work, and for building layered surfaces where you want the color to stay solid and readable in the flame.
How it is used:
Warm the surface of your bead or gather until it is slightly tacky, then roll or press the hot glass into the frit to pick up an even coat. Bring the piece back into the flame and melt the frit in gradually so it fuses smoothly without trapping air. Add additional frit in light layers for heavier coverage, melting each application in before adding the next, then proceed with shaping, detailing, or encasing as your design requires.
