Description:
Devardi Stringer - Opaque Ivory is a pre-pulled soft glass stringer made for 104 COE lampworking. It is manufactured as thin, consistent strands of opaque ivory-colored glass so it heats quickly and applies cleanly without needing to pull your own stringer from a larger rod. Opaque ivory is commonly chosen when you want warm, bone-like linework, high-contrast detailing on darker base colors, and crisp surface decoration that stays readable after shaping and polishing in the flame.
How it is used:
Bring the stringer into the outer part of the flame first to gently warm it, then move it into a working flame once it is heat-soaked. Touch the softened tip to your bead or workpiece to apply fine lines, dots, scrollwork, or thin wraps. For cleaner lines, keep the base bead warm and rotate smoothly while feeding the stringer at a steady rate. If you need a flatter line, you can slightly press or marver the application while it is still hot, then reheat to fully smooth the surface.
