Description:
Devardi Stringer - Opaque Medium Blue is hand-pulled soft glass stringer made for 104 COE lampworking. It is produced as thin, consistent strands of opaque medium blue glass so it heats quickly and applies cleanly for fine surface decoration without needing to pull your own stringer from a larger rod. Opaque medium blue is a strong, dependable color choice when you want crisp linework, bold dots, and high-contrast borders on beads and small sculptural work, especially for nautical palettes, classic blue and white designs, and graphic detailing that stays solid and readable in the flame.
How it is used:
Warm the stringer slowly in the outer flame until it is evenly heat-soaked, then move it into a working flame to form a small molten tip. Touch the tip to the surface of your bead or workpiece to apply dots, fine lines, scrollwork, and thin wraps. For clean lines, keep the base bead warm and rotate smoothly while feeding the stringer at a steady pace. If you need a slightly thicker application, allow a small gather to form at the tip before touching down, then reheat to fully smooth the decoration into the surface.
