Description:
Devardi Stringer - Opaque Olive is hand-pulled soft glass stringer made for 104 COE lampworking. It is pulled down to a thin working diameter so it heats quickly and gives you controlled, predictable application for fine decoration without needing to pull your own stringer from full-size rod. The opaque olive tone is especially useful when you want earthy, muted green detail that reads clearly on the surface, making it a strong choice for botanical designs, natural color palettes, and crisp linework that stays solid rather than transparent.
How it is used:
Warm the stringer gradually in the outer flame until it is evenly heat-soaked, then bring the tip into a working flame to form a small molten point. Touch the molten tip to your bead or workpiece to place dots, then reheat to round and smooth them in. For lines and scrollwork, keep the base piece warm, rotate steadily, and feed the stringer at a consistent pace to maintain an even line thickness. If you want raised decoration, allow a slightly larger gather to form at the tip before applying, then lightly reheat to set the detail without over-flattening it.
