Description:
Devardi Frit - Semi-Opaque Black Amber is a semi-opaque soft glass frit used for 104 COE lampworking and beadmaking. It is made from small pieces of colored soft glass that are sized for easy pickup on a hot surface and for smooth melt-in in the torch. This color is used when you want a dark amber tone with a semi-opaque look that can add depth, shadow, and warm darkness to beads and small torchworked components.
How it is used:
Frit is applied by heating the bead or workpiece until the surface is tacky, then rolling the hot glass in the frit to pick up the particles. Melt the frit in fully for a smooth surface, or melt it in lightly to keep more texture and a speckled look. Black amber tones are commonly used for outlining, shading, and building warm, smoky layers over compatible 104 COE base glass, especially when you want a darker color without going fully black.
