Description:
Devardi Frit - Semi-Opaque Marine Green is crushed and screened 104 COE soft glass made into small grains for lampworking and beadmaking. It is produced from semi-opaque marine green glass and packaged as frit so you can add color quickly and evenly without pulling stringer or melting down rod. Marine green is used when you want a deep, ocean-toned green that stays readable on the surface while still having a slightly softened semi-opaque look. It is commonly chosen for rolling beads for fast coverage, creating layered green surfaces, and adding rich accents in botanical, nautical, and earth-tone color palettes.
How it is used:
Preheat the frit if desired to reduce thermal shock. Heat your bead or component until the surface is tacky, then roll or dip it into the frit to pick up an even layer. Return the piece to the flame and melt the frit in slowly using gentle heat so it fuses smoothly and does not trap air. You can leave the frit partially raised for texture or fully melt it in for a smooth finish, then continue shaping and anneal using an appropriate 104 COE schedule.
