Devardi Frit - Transparent Light Yellow is transparent light yellow glass that has been crushed and screened into small, workable grains for lampworking. It is made as frit so you can apply color quickly and evenly without needing to melt in a full rod, making it especially useful for surface color, blending, and soft transitions. Transparent light yellow is commonly used when you want a warm yellow tone that still allows light to pass through, which is ideal for layered color work, subtle shading, and building luminous highlights over clear or other transparent colors.
How it is used:
Pour a small amount of frit into a clean frit tray or dish and keep it free of dust and mixed colors. Warm the area of your bead or component until it is slightly tacky, then roll or press the hot glass into the frit to pick up an even layer. Melt the frit in slowly with a neutral flame while rotating continuously so the grains fuse smoothly without burning or creating a rough surface. Add additional layers if you want deeper color, then continue shaping. If you plan to encase, fully melt and smooth the frit layer first to reduce trapped texture and bubbles.
