Description:
Devardi Stringer - Transparent Dark Amethyst is a transparent 104 COE soft glass stringer that is hand pulled to a thickness of 2-3mm and cut to lengths of 8-12 inches. Each pound contains approximately 64 stringers. Dark amethyst is a deep transparent purple that is useful when you want rich color with light transmission, especially for layered work where you want depth without losing clarity.
How it is used:
Stringers are used for applying controlled lines of color, building surface decoration, and creating fine detail on beads and other soft glass work. Heat the tip of the stringer until it begins to glow and soften, then apply it to the hot base bead or workpiece by trailing lines, wrapping, or drawing patterns. Transparent purple stringers like dark amethyst are commonly used for scrollwork, striping, dot application, and layered designs where the underlying glass can still show through. This stringer is compatible with other 104 COE soft glass and should be annealed using standard 104 COE soft glass annealing practices.
