Description:
Devardi Stringer - Transparent Golden Smoke is pre-pulled transparent golden smoke colored soft glass stringer made for 104 COE lampworking. It is manufactured as thin, consistent strands so it heats quickly and applies cleanly for detail work without needing to pull your own stringer. Transparent golden smoke is used when you want warm, smoky linework and shading that still transmits light, making it useful for subtle outlines, layered transparent striping, and adding depth over clear or lighter transparent colors.
How it is used:
Use the stringer like a pencil for hot glass. Bring the tip of the stringer to a small, controlled heat and warm the surface of your bead or component until it is ready to accept decoration. Touch the stringer to the surface and draw lines, scrollwork, or place dots while keeping the base piece rotating for even heat. Melt the decoration in gently with a neutral flame to the level you want, then continue shaping or encasing after the stringer work is fully smoothed in.
