Devardi Stringer - Transparent Vibrant Blue is a transparent 104 COE soft glass stringer hand-pulled to a thickness of 2-3mm and cut to lengths of 8-12 inches. Each pound contains approximately 64 stringers. The transparent vibrant blue color is a bright, saturated blue that maintains clarity when melted, making it ideal for creating bold color effects, layered designs, and detailed decorative work in lampworking and beadmaking applications.
How it is used:
Stringers are used to apply controlled lines of color, create patterns, and build detailed designs on beads and glass vessels. When working with transparent stringers like this vibrant blue, the glassblower heats the stringer until it becomes pliable and then applies it to the hot glass surface, either wrapping it around the piece or laying it flat to create stripes, swirls, or decorative patterns. Transparent stringers allow light to pass through the color, creating depth and luminosity in finished work. This stringer is compatible with all 104 COE soft glass and should be annealed following standard 104 COE practices to prevent thermal shock and cracking.
